Falling leaves and crispy mornings
Leaves all littered on the lawn
Browns and reds and yellows too
All part of the autumn hue
Equinox and shorter days
Longer nights and darker dawn
Misty mornings damp and dull
Days of sun and crisp clean air
Wind and rain and frost to come
The scene is changing day by day
It tells the time its nature’s way
Autumnness will have its day
